Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy is a cutting-edge treatment method that uses liquid nitrogen to freeze and destroy abnormal, diseased or infected tissue. It is used to treat a variety of diseases and disorders, particularly skin conditions. The application of extreme cold results in the death of the targeted tissue while simultaneously numbing the surrounding sensory nerves, thereby reducing pain.

Deepwoods Veterinary Services routinely uses cryotherapy to address a number of conditions, including distichiae (extra eyelashes), as well as the removal of warts, skin legions tumors and more. Some of the many advantages of cryotherapy for pets include:

  • No sedation or anesthesia required
  • Quick, safe, and effective
  • No preparation or after care is needed
  • Pinpoint accuracy
  • Little to no discomfort
